101 Necklaces

101 Necklaces explores the capacities of parametric design to create an iterative and unique piece of jewellery.

101 Necklaces is an exploration of parametric design and its use to create unique pieces that can easily be 3D printed.

This project is based on the concept of iteration, where a designer thinks about an initial concept that then it gets iterated by modifying one (or several) parameters. A piece of parametric design is supposed to be unique, since only its creator knows how to iterate the initial model to get to the final result.

Based on this concept of uniqueness, I thought about the relationship between a wearable piece and its wearer, specifically in a piece of jewellery.

I used Blender and the Tissue plugin to create a geometric shape and iterated over two parameters to create 101 variations of the initial concept. Then, I chose my favourite iteration and 3D printed it to photograph the final result.
